What is a bilateral agreement?

A bilateral agreement is a mutual cooperation agreement between two educational institutions. It allows students to study at the partner institution without paying tuition fees, and ensures that the exchange is academically recognised as part of your degree at your home institution.

What do you gain?

  • Academically relevant exchange at recognised universities
  • Tuition-free study at the host institution
  • Financial support from Lånekassen, including travel grants and, if applicable, tuition support
  • International experience that enhances your CV and personal development

Note: For more information on specific agreements, please see the agreement page of the relevant institution.
