Housing complex. Spatial ideas for a machine space.
By
Michal Starzynski
This diploma is based on my fascination with architectural spaces. Throughout the need for an analytical understanding of everything around and beyond me, I brought up definitions and descriptions of the space as a fundament for the project. By working with the definition of a machine space I designed a private house in the pre-diploma and housing complex afterward.
The project is a one-level building consisting of six apartments inscribed within a rectangle of 30x50 meters occupying the whole plot. From the outside one cannot expect interiors, from the inside, one perceives gardens around stronger than interiors. To understand the building one needs to live on the whole plot together with neighbours. The idea emphasises a striped plot division by bending the existing linearity to the extreme.
