Got an idea for an event, a club, or an activity?
Apply here
We’re always interested in hearing from students who want to create something for their fellow students. Student-led initiatives are an important part of what makes studying at AHO richer and more inclusive.
What activities can I apply funding for?
You can apply for support for both one-time events and ongoing activities. The most important requirement is that it should be open and inclusive to other students.
Examples of initiatives:
- Yoga
- Football
- Ski trips
- Film club
- Art exhibitions
- Language café
- ... and much more!
Even if you’re not applying for funding, we encourage you to host or participate in student activities. It’s an important part of building a vibrant and welcoming student environment at AHO.
How to apply for support
Applications for student initiatives are submitted to SAHO through our application form.
Your application should include:
- Who is applying for support?
- What is the purpose of the event or activity?
- Who is the target audience?
- How will the funds be used?
- Have you applied for funding elsewhere? If yes, where?
- How much are you applying for?
If the application is for a recurring activity, it is helpful to include:
- A budget or accounts from previous years (if available).
- A breakdown of which expenses you are requesting SAHO to cover.
Submit application (nettskjema)
If you are unable to submit the form, you can send your application directly to saho@aho.no.
Funding opportunities from SiO
The student welfare organisation Studentsamskipnaden SiO offers various funding opportunities for different purposes and has a dedicated support centre for student associations. Here, you can get guidance and assistance – including specific schemes for those looking to start a new association or further develop an existing one.
Evaluation of applications
Applications are reviewed during the weekly meetings of the Executive Committee (AU) and are decided by vote. You will receive a response as soon as possible.
If your application is declined, you will receive a reason. If possible, you may revise your application based on the feedback and resubmit it.
If your application is approved, your initiative will be granted a budget – a set amount you may use. This budget covers costs up to the amount awarded. Any unused funds will remain in SAHO’s total budget and cannot be transferred or reused for other purposes.
The amount granted depends on factors such as the number of applicants, expected participation, how inclusive the initiative is, and the nature of the activity.
Costs and reimbursement
As a general rule, you will need to cover expenses in advance and apply for reimbursement after the activity has taken place.
To receive reimbursement, you must submit valid receipts and the necessary personal information – further instructions will be provided. Please note: Receipts must be clear and meet standard requirements to be considered valid.
Within two weeks after the event or activity, a simple financial report must be submitted to SAHO, detailing how the money was spent.
Funding from SAHO cannot be used to generate profit or pay wages to the organisers.
