If You Fail to Attend or Submit an Exam
If you do not attend or submit your exam at the scheduled time, you will be registered as "not attended" and will have used one exam attempt. You are not entitled to a new or postponed exam (re-sit exam). The same applies if you do not submit an assignment (home exam, presentation, final review, portfolio assessment, etc.) by the deadline.
Valid Absence and Application for Deferred Exams or Submissions
Valid Absence During Exams
You can apply for a deferred exam if you are sick or for other compelling reasons are absent for more than three days during the last two weeks before the exam or submission deadline. You must attach a medical certificate to the application.
You must apply and submit the medical certificate no later than seven days after the exam day. If the medical certificate is not submitted within the deadline, the absence or lack of submission will be registered as one used exam attempt.
If you have been granted a valid absence for the exam, you must register yourself for the new and postponed exam. You will receive a registration form for this from the exam office. If you have not received anything, you can contact the exam office at eksamen@aho.no.
Applying for a Deferred Exam or Submission
Fill out the application form for postponed exams and upload a medical certificate or other equivalent documentation. The documentation must cover the exam day, submission deadline, or presentation day, and include the period of illness. Medical certificates contain sensitive information and should therefore not be sent by email.
