About

Henri Bava is founder and co-directeur of Agence Ter, a landscape architect firm set up in Paris in 1986 by three landscape architect colleagues: Henri Bava, Michel Hössler and Olivier Philippe, each of them being French with an international background.

The three founders of Agence Ter, all driven by the same curiosity, are pushing back the limits of their profession of landscape architecture by experimenting with a transverse approach to urban and territorial projects, trying to awoid the opposition between disicplines of urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture.

Agence Ter works on projects in complex urban long-term planning and large-scale situation, whilst still approaching them from the landscape perspective. The team focuses its attention on existing conditions, the context, relying on certain outstanding elements of the landscape to propose a conceptual approach capable of maintaining the constituent components of a site whilst triggering a renewal of the venue. Agence Ter acts with the firm desire to promote landscape as a vector for metropolitan changes.

Henri Bava will present three projects linked to water issues in larger urban context, water as founder of the design process, tacking climate change long-term perspectives. The projects are linked to the expo "BAP 2025" in versailles, NOUS LE CLIMAT – We…The climate.

Henri Bava is along side working at Agence Ter, President of the French Federation of Landscape Architects FFP, and was Professor of landscape architecture at KIT Karlsruhe at the faculty of architecture during 25 years.
