Background and experience
Audun Formo Hay works as a senior researcher at AHO and a senior advisor in Bærum municipality. His work focuses on how public services can be developed to be useful, valuable, and better adapted to the people who use and provide them.
He is part of Re:Structure, a participatory research project exploring how services for young people can be designed to prevent social exclusion. The project aims to develop a participatory approach to service design, working in collaboration with young people, municipal staff, and researchers.
For his PhD, Audun conducted participatory research with professionals in child welfare services. Together they explored how child welfare can be developed to better respond to the situations families face, and in ways experienced as more dignified.
Audun is a licensed psychologist specializing in community psychology. He has extensive experience as a therapist and as a manager in municipal child welfare services, where he primarily worked with systemic interventions for marginalized families affected by violence and neglect.
He also teaches at the University of Oslo, contributes to a range of postgraduate training programs for psychologists and psychiatrists, and supervises psychologists in systemic practices.
