What is .odt?

An .odt file is a textbased open document file (ODF), accessible also to those who have not installed MS Word or similar licence based programmes on their machine.

When opening an odt-file in Internet Exporer, this will generate a zip-file. However, when opening the file in Safari, Firefox, Chrome or Opera, you will be able to open the file directly.
