Mute Constructions. Movement in Space

Lisbeth Funck har siden 2008 utviklet prosjektet Mute Constructions, bl.a. i samarbeid med samarbeidet med danseren Runa Rebne. Hun har også tidligere hatt utstillinger i prosjektet.

Bevegelse i rom og malerier
Utstillingen i Beijing, med undertittelen Movement in Space viser filmopptak av Rebne/bevegelser i rom og malerier i tillegg til en live performance på åpningen 27.10. Utstillingen varer 27.10 - 10.11.2010.

Prestisjefylt
Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) i Beijing er en av Kinas mest prestisjefulle utdanningsinstitusjoner. Funck har også ved tidligere anledninger besøkt institusjonen, som del av faggruppen Bygg 3 ved Institutt for arkitektur. I 2008 viste gruppen bl.a. en utstilling av studentarbeider ved akademiet.

"Mute Constructions / Movements in space / The act of making. The act of making always involves a moment of magic.

What is magic, everything we do but can’t entirely understand, something that is so complex, it is impossible to recognize all the components involved? Mute Constructions is in a way about nothing, it is about the unspeakable, it is not yet art and it is not yet architecture, it is not a narration or illustration of a thought. Is it possible to extract visually the moment of making?

Mute Constructions is about being inspired and acting upon this inspiration. Inspiration finds a media and becomes matter.

Moving — Looking — Notating. How do we make, how close to the original can we get, what do we keep in the translation and what is impossible to translate, what belongs only to a specific moment and media, what is new? The presence of time is important.

To move slowly. To engage in a movement until it breaks free. To notate, quickly, keeping the energy of the dancer".
