Timo Arnall runs the AHO research project Touch which looks at possible interactions between mobile phones and physical objects or spaces. The project is creating new ways of interacting with mobile devices through a technology called Near Field Communication (NFC) that promises easier, more efficient and engaging mobile applications.
Most recently Timo worked as an interaction designer; consulting, designing and developing for the web, mobile services, social software and interactive television. Timo has a history of design and art direction work in diverse media from broadcast design to advertising, film, animation and exhibitions. Timo has directed projects for television and cinema, as well as media installations in architectural and public space.
Personal projects include the exploration of GPS mapping, signage, urban interfaces, photography and locative media.
