UN Habitat visits AHO

 Executive Director Dr. Juan Clos at UN Habitat is visiting AHO Thursday 20 October to discuss academia’s role in addressing urban development issues in the South.

'Program on Urban Challenges in the South' at Institute for Urbanism and Landscape at AHO is hosting a seminar where UN Habitat’s Executive Director Dr. Juan Clos is attending this week. The theme of the seminar is how academia can contribute to the knowledge production on urban challenges in developing countries.

Dr. Clos is in Norway at the invitation of the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss topics related to urban development primarily in developing countries where environmental problems, social challenges and adequate housing is central.

Dr. Clos will during his visit to the AHO, among other things, be informed about 'Program on Urban Challenges in the South'. This program consolidates AHO’s initiatives in research and education related to urban challenges for cities in the south.

UN Habitat is the UN's human settlement program. They work to promote social and sustainable towns and cities that can provide shelter to all who live there.
