New book from AHO’s Routes project

The research project Routes at AHO has created Routes, Roads and Landscapes - an edited collection on roads and landscapes from the 18th century to the present.

Routes, Roads and Landscapes is an edited collection on roads and landscapes from the 18th century to the present, published by Ashgate Publishers. With contributions from cultural historians, architects, geographers, landscape historians, art historians, philosophers and sociologists, the collection presents the road as a cultural and a historical phenomenon and discusses the reciprocal relationship between routes and landscapes.

The collection is edited by Mari Hvattum, Brita Brenna, Beate Elvebakk and Janike Kampevold Larsen, and is a result of the research project Routes, Roads and Landscapes: aesthetic practices en route, 1750-2015, financed by the Norwegian Research Council.
