New head of institute at AHO

From September 15th, Netten Østberg becomes the new Head of AHOs Institute of urbanism and landscape.

Netten Østberg (born 1965) is an architect from NTNU in 1991, and has worked in Asplan-Viak (1991 - 1996) and been head of Dark Architects. She has also been vice president of the Norwegian Architects Association and a deputy member of the AHO board (2005-2008). She has also been a guest teacher and examiner at AHO.

Østberg will initially staff position for one year, until 15.09.2011.

- I am very excited to work at AHO", says Østberg. - I have most of my experience from professional business, and it will be exciting to see our field from a different perspective. In addition, I see it as a an important task to take part in shaping the future generation of urban planners and architects, she adds.

- Besides her academic abilities, it was Østbergs management experience, including as a staff executive, and her administrative skills that made AHO get in touch with her, says Rector Karl Otto Ellefsen. - She will undoubtedly be an important co-worker, help develop the AHO management team as well as help strengthen AHO's public relations in architecture field.

Former head of institute, Dag Tvilde, now enters into an academic position at the institute where he will coordinate the academic programs Master of landscape architecture and Master in urbanism. In addition, Tvilde is AHO's representative in the ongoing cooperation with the University of Tromsø on the establishment of a joint five-year master's degree in landscape architecture.
