Selected
After a fairly extensive selection process, three projects designed by former students at AHO been selected for exhibition:

  • Bilal Zia Chaudhry Otivio. Tools for rapid cooling of hypothermia for people with acute stroke (Diploma, spring 2010)
  • Hans Alexander Huseklepp: Immaculate. Exploring New Possibilities for Prosthetic devices (Student Project, Fall 2008)
  • Sara Johansson: Sniff. Interactive aid for blind and visually impaired children. (Student Project, spring 2007)

All the projects have been carried out either as a student or graduate project at the Institute of Design at AHO, and has also previously received much attention. Bilal’s Otivio was recently awarded a Red Dot Award, one of the world's most renowned design awards.

- Excellent Recognition
- These projects originate from our department's commitment in both MedTech products and services and universal design, sais Head of the Institute of Design, Jonathan Romm. - Both topics are relevant and important, both from a design perspective in general and of the Institute of Design in particular. I am pleased that the Nordic Council of Ministers has decided to promote the Nordic region through exactly this kind of innovative thinking.

AHO is the only Norwegian school that has projects in the exhibition, and positions itself amongst the other Nordic participating schools with three projects. - This is a great recognition of both AHO and the students work, adds Romm.

On the agenda
It is not just in China that design and health is on the agenda. Jonathan Romm is also the head of the jury who will judge the results of the Norwegian National Design Competition 2010, which was launched recently. The theme here is aslo "Design and Health.
