AHO invited to design competition
AHO is one of five interational design schools invited to participate in the B-CITY/GLOCAL Concept Design Awards in Bilbao this autumn.
The competition The Bilbao / Bizkaia GLOCAL Concept Design Awards has been established to help create a stable foundation for design development in Bilbao and Biskaya area in northern Spain. The goal is to help create contact between designers and manufacturers.
In good company
B-City has invited five international institutions to send in selected student projects in five different categories. Besides AHO, these are Hong Kong University, National University of Singapore, Denmark Design School and Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Categories
The various categories are Habitat, Public spaces, Product, Graphic Design and Transport & Mobility. In addition to selecting a winner in each category, a overall winner gets to take home the price of € 10,000. All of the submitted projects and the winners will be exhibited in Bilbao in January 2011, before the winners of the competition will be named in February.
Philippe Starck jury chairman
Head for the jury is the world-famous designer Philippe Starck, teamed up with several prominent architects and designers: Tony Chambers (UK), Alvin Yip (Hong Kong), Elizabeth Diller (USA) and Toshiko Mori (J).
AHO nominees
AHO selected the candidates for the five categories under the AHO WORKS Awards 10 June, 2010. Both architecture and design students are among those who will represent AHO with their projects:

Daniel Lindberg: Bridge Hotel / A place for the movement
Product:
Hans-Alexander Huseklepp: Remedy. The role and emergency products and how they affect users in the Risk Society.
Graphic design:

Transportation & Mobility:
Julie Olssøn and Anne Kristine Grønlund: Nettbuss System.
