Guest lecture: Stig Lennart Andersson

AHO is visited by Stig Lennart Andersson, founder and Creative Director of SLA Landscape Architects.

After his graduation from the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1986, Stig L. Andersson travelled to Japan with Japaneese ministerial research funds. Stig L. Andersson was particularly interested in the Japanese culture’s relationship to substance, space and changeability – fields he has integrated and developed in his own practice since 1994.

Accoring to their website profile, SLA "designs spaces for new urban experiences, and create genuine amenity values that in an unorthodox way add a new layer of meaning to the everyday environment".

Since its foundation in 1994, SLA has realised a significant number of landscape architecture and urban development projects in Denmark and abroad. SLA was the first office to be awarded the Topos European Landscape Award for its focus on sensory urban spaces.

Today, SLA comprises 15 landscape architects, architects, and planners developing urban interventions on all scales - from masterplans to installations - in Denmark and elsewhere.
