Guest lecture: David McCandless
Visualizing information: Information is beautiful!
David McCandless is a London-based author, writer and designer, who has written for The Guardian, Wired and others.
Currently, McCandless is working as an independent data journalist and information designer, with focus on visualizing information – facts, data, ideas, subjects, issues, statistics, questions – all with a minimum of words.
Through his work, he aims to show how designed information can help us understand the world, cut through BS and reveal hidden connections, patterns and stories underneath.
In November 2009, he published the book The Visual Miscellaneum. In addition, examples of his work can be seen at his web site InformationIsBeautiful.net.
