Institute of design

The institute of design is responsible for educational and research activities within industrial design and interaction design. The institute educates designers who shape and develop products, services and interactive experiences. The education focuses on integration between aesthetics, culture and society, marketing, technology and design strategy.
The institute concentrates on two disciplines; industrial design and interaction design. Interaction design is about the dialogue between people, technology and services, while industrial design focus on shaping, developing and planning industrially manufactured products. The research at the institute covers both these areas, and practically based research is central to the institute's work. The institute has a broad cooperation with external institutions and commercial agents both in education and in its research projects.
